Yuyan Li, PV Application Technical Leader at Dow Chemical, presented the company’s ENGAGE PV POE based encapsulant solutions for high efficiency bifacial modules. According to Li, EVA film doesn’t offer strict water resistance required for PERC bifacial modules with transparent backsheet, but she claimed that the company’s POE product offers ‘excellent’ PID resistance. The latter also brings down gram weight and cost by 8.2% when compared with PV grade EVA.
Li was speaking at the TaiyangNews Reliable PV Module Design Virtual Conference that took place on 14 December 2022. The Conference brought together stakeholders from different parts of the module manufacturing chain to discuss the latest findings on how to make high-quality solar panels that stand the test of time.
