  • LONGi has rebranded its Hi-MO 6 module as Hi-MO X6 panel with improved features
  • It claims the product to be the world’s 1st dust-free solar panel with an efficiency of up to 23.3%
  • The module is busbar-free on the front and uses the company’s own HPBC+ cell with 25.8% efficiency

Leading solar PV manufacturer from China LONGi has unveiled its Hi-MO X6 solar module, calling it the world’s ‘1st’ dust-proof solar panel for the global distributed generation segment.

Based on the company’s proprietary hybrid passivated back contact (HPBC) technology, the manufacturer says its anti-dust accumulation frame design helps improve power generation with module efficiency increasing up to 23.3%.

Along with no dust accumulation, Hi-MO X6 module with its busbar-free design on the front also ensures there is no water accumulation. This helps increase the project owner’s income while easing project maintenance, according to the company.

With Hi-MO X6, LONGi has rebranded its much successful Hi-MO 6 product that was originally launched in late-2022 with 22.8% efficiency in mass production (see New Record Efficiency Module With Back Contact Cell From LONGi).

The company claims the anti-dust feature helps generate 6% to 10% more power compared to traditional modules in the global distributed generation segment. The module’s busbar-free design on the front enables light absorption to increase by 2.27%.

The distributed generation product uses the HPBC+ cell whose efficiency exceeds 25.8%, compared to 25.5% for a HPBC cell.

At a recent launch event for the product that had a fashion show inspired by LONGi’s new products, LONGi called Hi-MO X6 the ‘King of Photovoltaic Roofs’ that incorporates 4 main characteristics of beautiful appearance, high power generation efficiency, safety and reliability and anti-dust accumulation. The rebranded module has been in the making for last 2 years.

“Rather than being perceived as a simple gesture, the re-brand underlines a history and ongoing commitment shared by LONGi, its customers and partners, to the provision of a distinctive product delivering ultimate satisfaction wherever in the world it is deployed,” stated the manufacturer.

Currently, LONGi’s Hi-MO 6 module is on the 2nd spot on TaiyangNews Top Solar Modules Listing for September 2023 with an efficiency of 23.2% (see Top Solar Modules Listing—September 2023).
