TOPCon Products In Focus For Suntech

Suntech Promotes High-Efficiency Lightweight N-Type TOPCon Glass-Glass Module

2 TOPCon modules: Suntech during Intersolar 2023 launches a lightweight module of 440 W and also promotes its 144-half-cell product, both based on the TOPCon cell structure.
  • The Ultra V Pro Mini is tailored mainly for rooftop applications and features a power rating of 440 W and a conversion efficiency of up to 22.5%
  • The module is also lightweight, with 1.6 mm + 1.6 mm glass on both sides, and provides a 30-year warranty
  • Suntech also promotes another TOPCon product, which is built with 144 half-cells and has a higher power of 585 W and an efficiency of 22.6%

China’s Suntech promotes its latest TOPCon products and the latest is a new high-efficiency lightweight n-type TOPCon glass-glass module, the Ultra V Pro Mini.

Tailored mainly for rooftop applications, this module series features n-type TOPCon cell architecture with 54 cells of 182 mm (108 half-cells). It has a power rating of 440 W and a conversion efficiency of up to 22.5%. The module is also lightweight, with 1.6 mm + 1.6 mm glass on both sides, resulting in a 20% weight reduction compared to similar-sized products in the industry, the company claims. Suntech backs the module with a 30-year linear warranty, ensuring consistent power generation over time. The company asserts a strong track record of reliability, citing 2 rooftop photovoltaic systems in a southwestern German town that have operated for 16 years with only 1.9% and 2.9% degradation in power generation output.

In addition to the Ultra V Pro Mini, Suntech also promotes another variant. The Ultra V Pro variant, also based on TOPCon cell technology adopted on the 182 mm wafer format, is built with 144 half-cells and has a higher power of 585 W and an efficiency of 22.6%.

TaiyangNews Top Solar Modules listing covers 2 modules from Suntech in TOPCon and PERC category. Commercially available Ultra V Pro Plus module stands at the 21st position. This module has an efficiency of 22.4% and a rated power of 625W (see Top Solar Modules Listing – October 2023).
