GCL’s has introduced its TOPCon bifacial monocrystalline module in Europe, for the first time. The module has a solar cell efficiency of 24.1% to 24.8%. Low LID and LeTID, better low light response and low temperature coefficient are the other highlighted features of the product. The product has a bifaciality of 80% on average which, depending on the ground albedo, improves the power yield by 5% to 30%.

GCL’s BIPV TOPCon module is particularly suited to rooftop projects, featuring a lightweight, weather resistant composite frame. It decreases the risk of micro-cracks through a non-destructive cutting technique and, combined with a large-sized silicon wafer module, brings down overall costs. This Class A fire-certified module is 100% waterproof and can resist wind levels up to 16. It also features natural heat dissipation and convenient installation and maintenance. A 20 GW TOPCon photovoltaic cell project is set to commence volume production in July at GCL’s Wuhu facility in Anhui Province.
GCL’s granular silicon and energy storage system products were also highlights of the company. The Fluidized Bed Reactor (FBR) granular polysilicon, characterized by lower unit investment, operational costs, and carbon emissions than the standard process to produce silicon chunks, is instrumental for efficient development in the n-type industry chain, noted GCL.
Finally, GCL’s Honor and Evolution series energy storage systems cater to a multitude of applications, offering excellent safety assurance and cost efficiency. Emphasizing GCL SI’s commitment to a low-carbon “PV+” industry ecology, the company says it saved 2.1 billion kWh of electricity and reduced carbon emissions by 1.18 million tons in China during 2022.
